This Bride Tested Positive Just Before The Wedding, Exchanged Vows In Most Beautiful Way!

There have been several memes on social media about how 2020 has become the year of weddings–jise dekho woh shaadi kar raha hai. Maybe it’s the fact that the pandemic has made us rethink our priorities in life or it’s just that all the weddings that were earlier postponed are now finally taking place in a more toned-down way. Whatever the reason may be, we love ourselves a good wedding story!

Meet Patrick Delgado and Lauren Jimenez who went against all odds to make sure that they tied the knot on the very same date they’d decided to. Theirs wasn’t just any COVID wedding. Lauren tested positive for COVID-19 just three days before the ceremony and had the couple not taken their vows on the set date, their wedding license would have expired. With not much of a choice left, the Californian couple went ahead with their plans and had the most beautiful socially-distanced wedding!

The bride sat by her bedroom’s window on the first floor and looked gorgeous in a white bridal gown. The groom stood at the front yard underneath her window in a black suit and they held the ends of a ribbon to symbolise that they were holding hands. How romantic is that?!

The couple invited only ten guests to be a part of their celebrations and some even attended from across the street, sitting in their cars. “We were cautious throughout the entire time, making sure we always wore our masks everywhere. When she got that positive test result, I’ll be honest, it took a massive toll on her,” shared the groom in a recent interview.

Lauren and Patrick had been dating for almost four years and got engaged in 2019. Initially, they had planned a grand wedding this year but had to postpone multiple times due to the current scenario. “Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I was really saddened because everything we had planned was already getting cancelled. I was like maybe we can somehow get married with me in the window. It’ll be like a fairytale, I guess,” shared Lauren. Even their wedding photographer, Jessica Jackson mentioned that “it was the most 2020 wedding” she’d shot this year and we couldn’t agree more! “Although it’s definitely not how we envisioned our wedding day, Patrick and I were able to exchange our vows to each other,” signed off the bride.

2020 has been a year like no other and celebrations have definitely seen a huge shift. From grand affairs to intimate setups, it’s heartwarming to see how couples and their families have not let the pandemic dampen their spirits and Patrick & Lauren’s exchange of vows proves just that. Congratulations to the newlyweds, we hope they get to celebrate with their loved ones super soon!
