Priyanka Chopra Jonas is undoubtedly the ultimate Desi Girl of Bollywood, but her sister Parineeti Chopra is not far behind. After working in blockbuster movies like Kesari and Hasee Toh Phasee, the actress has become one of the leading ladies of the film industry. Both the sisters share a strong camaraderie and are super fond of each other.
Earlier this week, the younger Chopra sister did an #AskParineeti session with her fans on Twitter. The twitterati was curious to know about the kind of film Parineeti would want to do with her Mimi didi AKA Priyanka Chopra. Parineeti revealed that she would love to work in an action movie with PeeCee where they might even get a chance to sing together.
Yesterday, at a song launch of her upcoming film Jabariya Jodi, the reporters asked Parineeti about the tweet and if there was any truth to it. Parineeti Chopra told the reporters that she and Priyanka Chopra have discussed working together but they are waiting for the right film for the two of them: “If there is a correct script, then we would like to work together. I had recently also said that if any producers or directors are making an action film, we would love to work together on it. We both have spoken a lot about working together, but the script should be correct.”
Come on Bollywood writers, make it happen! We are super excited about seeing the Chopra sisters together on the big screen.
Parineeti Chopra has received rave reviews about ‘desi avtar’ in Jabariya Jodi. In the same interview, when the actress was asked if she is on her way to become the next desi girl, Parineeti said, “What can I say? I think there can be only one desi girl in this world, in the industry. I wouldn’t even try to compete (with Priyanka). But we both (Sidharth Malhotra and I) are very desi in this film. That’s all I would like to say because there is only one desi girl and nobody can take her place. ”
Parineeti Chopra will be seen opposite Siddharth Malhotra in Jabariya Jodi, which is all set to hit the theatres on 2 August 2019. The film is based upon the tradition of groom kidnapping, prevalent in Bihar. Siddharth Malhotra is playing a Bihari thug in the film, who helps kidnap grooms in order to avoid paying out dowries for their upcoming marriage. This will be Siddharth and Parineeti’s second film together after Hasee Toh Phasee.
Meanwhile, PeeCee is all set to make her comeback to Bollywood with Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink, which also features Zaira Wasim and Farhan Akhtar. The movie will hit the screens on 12 October 2019.
