Celebrities have gotten used to being under the constant hawk like gaze of trolls. Parineeti Chopra remained no stranger when she uploaded an adorable picture with a Koala from her recent tour in Australia. While the picture seemed absolutely harmless to me, some sleezy men found a way to turn this into an objectification riot with comments like “What is he trying to press,” “Betaa hatha sahi jagah lagaya kr” and “what a hand grip”.
Not just that, apparently her post was also an open invitation for them to skinny-shame her, saying she looked better before and my personal favourite - “plastic surgery ki dukan”. As a person with a public account, I can’t imagine how these comments do any good to the world. But they exist and are constantly becoming a part of our daily lives. Do we want to be known as the generation of internet trolls? I’m afraid so.
