They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, looks like some people took this phrase way too seriously. Last year, there was a doll that was fashioned to look like Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s two-year-old son Taimur Ali Khan. A big sign that India just couldn’t get enough of him! And now, dolls based on Kasautii Zindagii Kayy‘s Prerna and Komolika are out in the market, and their photos have gone viral on social media.
Kasautii Zindagii Kayy has been raking in ratings and has become increasingly popular. It has maintained its spot among the Top 5 in the TRP ratings ever since it aired on Star Plus last year. Not just the show but its characters too are loved by the fans: be it the headstrong Prerna AKA Erica Fernandes or the evil-yet-charming Komolika, played by Hina Khan. These enigmatic female characters have received so much adoration from the fans that the leading ladies got their own customised dolls!

After the photos of the dolls went viral on social media, Ekta Kapoor, the show’s producer and the Godmother of Balaji Telefilms, shared pictures of the dolls on Instagram. She even asked the fans to pick their favourite out of the two: “Wat biggger compliment for these iconic characters ! Thanku ppl for d love !!! Komo dolls n prerna dolls !! Wats ur pick ????”

Not just Prerna and Komolika, Pooja Banerjee, the actress who plays Anurag’s sister Nivedita Basu, also got her own doll. Pooja was so ecstatic that she even shared its picture as her Instagram story and wrote, “This is so cute. Thank you for the love.”
On the work front, Kasautii Zindagii Kayy‘s Hina Khan will soon quit the show to focus on her other work commitments. In fact, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress recently shared her first look from her upcoming movie Lines. The film is a tragic love story set in Kashmir during the Kargil War. Veteran actress Farida Jalal is also an important part of the story. Directed by Hussain Khan, the movie is all set to be unveiled at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which will be held in the month of May from 14 to 25 this year.
