Kabir Singh: Mumbai-Based Doctor Files Official Complaint Against Makers Of The Film

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh is making headlines for all possible reasons. On one hand, critics are calling it out for being sexist, misogynist and for glorifying toxic relationships, and on the other, Kabir Singh has just become Shahid’s first solo film to cross Rs 100 crores at the Box office. While it may be problematic, the audience is loving the film and fans claim it’s a must-watch super hit.

To explain the storyline briefly, Kabir falls madly in love with Preeti (played by Kiara Advani), a fellow medical student. Eventually, they break up and Kabir’s anger management issues lead him to his decline. He dives headfirst into alcohol and drugs as he battles self-pity and rage.

Recently, as per reports, a Mumbai-based doctor has filed a complaint against the makers of the film for portraying doctors in a bad light. In the film, Shahid essays the role of a surgeon who is hooked to drugs and alcohol post his break up and also performs surgery under the influence of intoxicants. The complainant also stated that Kabir, as a doctor, is shown as a violent man who has no lid on his anger and hence, shows the profession in a negative way.

The doctor has raised a written complaint to the central Health Minister, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, the State Health Ministry, and the Censor Board of Film Certification and has requested to stop the screening the film.
