Mouni Roy amassed a huge fan following for her stint as Krishna Tulsi in Ekta Kapoor's decade long-running soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2004. The actress became the uncrowned queen of the small screen when she proved her mettle by essaying the role of Sati in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and let's not forget her power-packed performance as the quintessential shape-shifting snake in Naagin. The actress will be seen playing the antagonist in Ayan Mukherji's Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in titular roles.

Talking about her role in the film, Mouni told PTI, "I am playing the main villain in the film. I am really looking forward to it. What is more liberating for me is playing different characters that challenge me. I was surprised initially that they wanted me to play the villain. Ayan Mukherji had seen something from Naagin and felt I could play the villain. So you never know what clicks with whom. As an actor, you should be willing to experiment and be versatile otherwise you can't learn and grow."

The actress has two more films in her kitty- Made in China with Rajkummar Rao, in which she plays the role of a Gujarati housewife and Bole Chudiyan with Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

About her role in Bole Chudiyan, the actress said, "This girl in (Bole Chudiyan) is very fiery, drives tractors and dances. It is a full-on Hindi film heroine. I am excited about it. I was waiting for something like this."
