Michelle Obama In A Monochrome Look
To recap, for her Internet-breaking look at the Inauguration Day, Michelle Obama chose to keep it monochrome in a chic turtleneck, wide-legged pants, a belt to highlight the fit and a long coat layered on top. Styled by Meredith Koop, her outfit came from Sergio Hudson, a Los-Angeles based designer.
Launched in 2014, the designer’s eponymous womenswear label is known for its statement pieces that work with colour and silhouette. In the past, the Black American fashion designer has dressed celebs like Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and closer home, Priyanka Chopra.

Speaking of the latter, the actress donned a Sergio Hudson outfit way back in 2017 and other than the designer himself, her look had a lot more in common with the former First Lady. Styled by celebrity expert Ami Patel, Priyanka Chopra had also decked up in a tone-on-tone look, using head-to-toe colour to her advantage when attending an event. A crossover blouse with a slightly plunging neckline was tucked into wide-legged trousers, all of it layered with a matching pink coat that the actress draped lightly across her shoulders.
