Moving forward with the semi-finals, the world champion will have to face Turkey's Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, who currently holds the second position. Buse, who is currently the reigning European Championships and European Games gold-medallist, had to defeat China's Cai Zongju to make her place into the semi-finals.
Mary Kom has had a shining boxing career representing India and has won an Olympic bronze medal (2012), five Asian titles, gold medals at the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games, besides numerous other international titles.
