Trying to escape the blues on a Monday is near impossible. And this Monday is no different – but this time you wouldn’t want to escape the blues. The blues we’re referring to are Alia Bhatt’s bridesmaid ensemble and they are just the right kind.
Alia’s best friend, Devika Advani just got hitched and naturally, Alia dressed to impress at each function – with a vibrant embellished lehenga for the mehendi, the floral crop top and skirt for the sangeet and the pretty green suit for the haldi.
Her outfit for her BFF’s wedding day was our absolute favourite, though. Alia put on her ethnic best for Devika’s pheras and boy, did she look like a dream.

Wearing one of her favourite Indian wear designers, Manish Malhotra, Alia looked poised in a striking royal blue saree, which was actually a pre-stitched fishtail silhouette skirt with a ruffled hem, a sheer palla and a thigh-high slit (yes, a slit).

We’re also crushing on all the exquisite detailing on the rest of the ensemble… especially the delicate floral embroidery and embellishment on the V-neck, short-sleeved saree blouse. The saree pallu casually rested on Alia’s shoulder in a classic drape and featured a glittery blue border that matched her blouse.
Always setting outfit goals for us, isn’t she? The actress successfully combines modern-chic or traditional elegance and that’s what we’ve always admired about her sartorial endeavours.

Moving on to the jewellery, which we’re sure you’re already in love with – Alia Bhatt went with a traditional polki and pink enamel choker, which she layered with another one to match. A pink and gold maangtikka adorned Alia’s forehead and added the ‘Indian’ touch to her trendy, loose ponytail needed.
