After a sin-month run, TV show Naagin 5 ended rather abruptly. And while the audience was promised an interesting spin-off, we were also told that it was the end of the Naagin franchise. So we don't know what to believe. And right after its conclusion, Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein replaced the show on ColorsTV.
Ironically, the show is about vampires and fairies and until recently, no mention of a naagin was actually made. Not gonna lie, we really thought that the makers were trying to hoodwink us all this while by randomly adding "Naagin" to the show's title. But guess what? Looks like they actually have some plans in place.
Krishna Mukherjee, who plays Priya in the show, recently took to Instagram to share her first look as the new naagin and we are pretty excited. Quite reminiscent of Surbhi Jyoti's naagin avatar, the look is every bit intense and suits Krishna really well. However, we are also a little bit confused by the look. Here's what's bothering us right now:
Interestingly, Priya's look in Kuch Toh Hai has been directly borrowed from Bani (Surbhi Jyoti) of Naagin 5 with hardly any tweaks in the costume or jewels. In the latest pictures, she can be seen dressed in the same fiery scarlet outfit featuring gold accents. The jewels too have been kept the exact same. Seriously we gotta ask, how is this "Naagin Ek Naye Ran Mein?"
Now, while we are a little disappointed with the lack of efforts here, we do feel that there's a certain intensity about her look.
When Surbhi first started playing naagin, it took us a while to get used to her. However, in Krishna's case, we are already impressed by her fierce stance and looking forward to watching more of her in the show now. Also, we suspect that Priya and Bani (Surbhi Jyoti) share a history and cannot wait to find out what's cooking.
In another look from the show, Krishna can be seen dressed as a naagin bride. Given the history of Naagin franchise, we are guessing that a wedding compromise is in order. Also, Krishna is killing it as the naagin bride. In the picture, she can be seen heavily decked in a beige-red outfit and gold jewels. We are especially loving that mathapatti and how well it is suiting her. However, it's definitely her makeup look that we are bookmarking. Seriously, from the smokey eyes to that velvet lip colour, what's not to like? Here's are some product recommendations that can help you recreate the look:
That said, isn't this too much of deja vu for a show that was supposed to replace Naagin?
