Ever since the cast and crew of Kasautii Zindagii Kay started shooting after a four-month-long hiatus, they have been dominating headlines for some reason or the other. From Parth Samthaan contracting COVID-19 to reports of the actor leaving the show, the show makers have been seeing difficult days for some time now.
According to new reports, the show is all set to go off air on October 3rd. The makers are working on the script to give it a memorable ending. The buzz about the show ending started after Parth Samthaan aka Anurag Basu decided to quit the show for other projects and to focus on his health.
Reportedly, the makers have taken the decision to end the show after a lot of discussions as Parth and Erica don’t want to play parents going ahead in the show. The makers also feel that replacing the lead actors will break the connection that the audience already has with Parth and Erica.
Meanwhile, there is another actor who is returning to the show. Sahil Anand who plays Anupam Sengupta is all set to report to the set in a few days after a gap of six months. There were rumours about him quitting the show.
“I wouldn’t use the word ‘quit’, because everything was decided after a series of amicable discussions with the creative team. There are so many characters involved and one has to think about each one’s placement. Back then, I did not have even the faintest idea that the show could come to an end. The makers recently called me, saying that they’d want me to come back. Since I had my other project pushed a little further, I said ‘yes’. And I’m happy to be doing this,” the actor said in an interview with a leading daily.
Sahil further added that he missed shooting for the show, “It’s like a homecoming for me. It’s an emotional moment because the show has always been close to my heart. Not just the show, but everyone involved in it. We have become like a big, beautiful family. I am looking forward to meeting them and they are also excited about shooting with me again. Of course, we’re going to stay in touch even after the show, but I’ll surely miss the shoot.”
The first season of Kasautii Zindagii Kay ran for six long years. The second season has completed close to two years now. Well, we are kinda sad ‘cos we were lowkey excited about seeing how the love triangle unfolds between Anurag, Prerna and Mr Bajaj.
