Kartik Aaryan has been riding the roller coaster of stardom ever since the success of his film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety! Almost after a month, the movie managed to navigate its way into the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Since then, there has been no looking back for the actor. Kartik has been contracted by A-list directors to work in big banner films like Aaj Kal and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The actor is currently shooting in Lucknow for the remake of Pati Patni Aur Woh, which also features Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles.
Recently, Kartik took to Instagram to give his fans a sneak peek of his look in the upcoming film. He introduced his character Chintu Tyagi, who sports a moustache and dresses like an ordinary man caught in the rut of 9 to 5. Dressed in a check shirt with his hair combed neatly, Kartik seems to be an employee of a typical government office in the picture.
Looks like, Kartik got emotional while sharing his new look. He shared the picture along with a heartfelt note, “Chintu Tyagi Leaving behind one character... his world and getting into another character is painful yet a fun process. That's the perk of being an actor. You get to live so many lives in one life. #PatiPatniAurWoh,” he wrote.
Fans were surprised by Kartik’s sudden transformation as they are used to seeing him in swaggier roles. A few of them even drew an analogy that Kartik resembled Shah Rukh Khan from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. What do you think?
Earlier, Kartik revealed on Instagram that his character in Pati Patni Aur Woh was that of a ‘samarpit’ and ‘aashiq mizaaj’ husband. Bhumi Pednekar will be seen as his wife, while Ananya Panday will play a secretary who disrupts their ordinary life. A few days back, even Ananya Panday’s look from the film was leaked on social media wherein the actress was looking like a complete diva as she donned a chic look.
In a recent interview with a leading daily, Ananya expressed her excitement about working with Kartik: “He is such a nice person. I admired him as an actor and now I am getting to work with him. He is so selfless. So helpful. He is so much fun and makes everyone so comfortable. I think it will be fun to work with him. The rest of the shoot with him is going to be like a dream.” She also had all good things to say about Bhumi, “I have really looked up to her as an actor. Sharing screen space with her is in itself so inspiring for me because I can learn so much from her.”
Pati Patni Aur Woh, which first released in 1978, was a parody on extra-marital affairs. Produced and directed by BR Chopra, the film featured Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur in lead roles. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the remake of the movie is slated to release on December 6th this year.
