Sun is brighter, skies are clearer and the heat has gone through the roof probably into another dimension. We are bang in the middle of April, and I am already contemplating just getting a pixie. I would have done it too, but my Instagram stalking bought long hair saviour, the amazing Karisma Kapoor to my rescue. Her braided updo was just what I needed to keep hair off my neck this season.
What I noticed first about this versatile hairstyle is that it can be worn with anything. You can be in an Indian outfit, casual denim or even a sundress and this hairstyle would work with them all! Another great this about this kind of an updo is that it can be done on second and third-day hair. So this is ideal to keep your greasy roots from dampening your mojo.

This updo looks complicated but is rather simple to do if you have brushed up on your braiding skills. Make a deep side part and take most of your hair on one side leaving about a 4-inch section on the smaller side. Start Dutch braiding the smaller section to the absolute end and secure with a clear elastic. Then, leaving a few locks in the front to frame your face, take the rest of the hair in the large section and make it into a messy bun at the nape. Now take the braid and wrap it around the messy bun and pin the ends in place. Just take a toothbrush soaked in hairspray to tame flyaways, and you’re ready for whatever it is that you’re planning on doing!
