In recent times, we have seen that magazine covers don't make or break headlines based on who's on the cover. If the high-definition glossy pictures are shot on a mobile camera, as against a professional DSLR, or published with absolutely zero editing is when an issue gets the attention, even of a non-magazine reader. The reason for this is simple but important--people are trying to break the unrealistic beauty standards. White underarms, smooth knees and flawless skin aren't the life goals women are chasing anymore.
Radhika Apte is one such celeb who has said no to photoshop and yes to natural beauty. So has Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Zendaya to name a few. And ever since Priyanka Chopra's no-armpit photoshop on an International mag years ago, her too. But a recent picture of Kareena Kapoor Khan comes as a reminder that India still a long way to go.
It all started when one of her fan accounts posted a picture from Kareena's recent photoshoot. "What's your 2020 Plan?" was the caption given to it, and boy, did the netizens have answers!
On the cover, the 39-year-old actress is looking beautiful as ever standing on a bed in a pastel green romper. But, soon the picture was criticised when people realised that the picture had been air-brushed to the extent that her knees weren't visible at all. It then went viral when more people started spotting photoshop errors in the shadow of her legs. Check it out!
Apart from the knees, her thighs were noticeably toned down and so were her calves. Unfortunately, the editor forgot about the shadow on the wall making it obvious. Soon, comments started flowing. While some people called out the editors for photoshopping Kareena's beautiful body, others called out the actress for letting her pictures get photoshopped.
Here's what Instagram had to say. PS. some "2020 Plans" were savagely shared in response to the caption. Go on!
Well, don't you agree?
Here's a picture of Kareena in her natural element and dolled up for an award show. Below that is a legit video of the yummy mummy working out for them toned legs.
Why would anyone want to let all of that effort go to waste! It looks damn hard but oh-so-rewarding looking at the Begum now... until it goes to the photoshop factory. What do you think?
