The showstopper for designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil at the Lakme Fashion Week, the Bollywood fashionista wore a black contemporary gown featuring faux-leather details. A daring thigh-high slit with that risque factor and an off-shoulder neckline gave way to an edgy appeal that the actress carried off with an unparalleled élan. Obviously, the diva that she is, we expect no less from her. Sheer black magic indeed!
Kareena’s power-packed ensemble was a part of the Recruit SR’19 collection by the designers, which in their own words, represented “Avant-Garde silhouettes through layering of nostalgic drapes culminating in the Revelation of S&N’s revolutionary Couture.”
For the uninitiated, Delhi-based designers Shantanu & Nikhil are known for their contemporary drapes that contribute massively to their niche signature style.

The body-hugging sheath number styled by Mohit Rai was in itself a marvellous couture offering, but taking it to the next level, the actress wore jet black cat-eye sunglasses that gave her look a futuristic, sci-fi like appearance. Now if this uber edgy look from the heartthrob and Taimur Ali Khan’s yum mum isn’t all things glam, we don’t know what is!

The couture wasn’t kept restricted to the runway. For the press conference, Kareena Kapoor Khan wore a similar gown in a red hue, also from Shantanu & Nikhil. Amalgamating a minimal drape and a corset-like bodice, Kareena made sure that we were glued to our Instagram accounts for a long, long time.
