Mid-life crisis is real, guys. Everyone finds unique ways of dealing with it and filmmaker Karan Johar has, too. KJo recently revealed that he has found a rather interesting way to deal with the feeling and it has got something to do with his clothes.
Remember all those years when Karan Johar just wore black? Well, there's been a recent transformation from basic to bling and now we know why! The filmmaker spoke about this when he appeared on chat show Not Just Supper Stars along with his real-life BFF fashion designer Manish Malhotra. The filmmaker accepted that he is dealing with mid-life crisis by wearing flashy shades.
The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director went on to describe how him and Manish are fighting age with a different choice of clothes. "Manish Malhotra has a very specific sense of his own. He’s very flashy and flamboyant as a designer but very sober when it comes to his personal sense. I think I’m going through a mid-life crisis so I’m wearing a lot of colour and bling. So, in our own ways we’re combating the age and stage we are at," Karan said.
Filmmaker's revelation reminds us of Ranveer Singh's comment on his chat show, Koffee With Karan where the Gully Boy actor confessed that he brings clothes for KJo! Well, if Ranveer is getting him all the clothes that he can't wear himself, we definitely know how Karan is managing to find all those outrageous outfits in his closet.
Speaking of KJo's flashy appearances, his latest flamboyant looks include the one at the Emmy's, the one for journalist Barkha Dutt's show 'We The Women', and for Filmfare awards. Here are some of KJo's most blingy looks of 2019!
These looks are proof enough that Karan is certainly using bright and blingy colours to combat the mid-life crisis. Speaking of age, Karan also opened up about the process of how he plans on getting into shape. The filmmaker shared, "I've been on some eight thousand diets and that's ruined my metabolism. Also, I've been one of those silent eaters - those who don't eat in front of others but eat silently at night."
