Weddings bring everyone together. Filmmaker Karan Johar and cricketer Hardik Pandya seem to have moved on after the scathing controversy on the former’s chat show. Both the celebrities danced together at the lavish Akash Ambani–Shloka Mehta wedding. They accompanied actor Ranbir Kapoor and director Ayan Mukerji during the baraat while dancing wildly to Mika Singh’s live performance.

The sixth episode of Koffee With Karan, featuring cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, was marred with misogynistic comments and received heavy criticism from the audience. After the episode was aired on national television, the two cricketers were sent home midway during the ODI series in Australia, a punishment considered justifiable by all their teammates. Karan Johar felt responsible about the repercussions that the two cricketers had to face. Although the audience continued to call out Hardik and Rahul for their insensitivity, many believed that Karan was equally guilty.

Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder cricketer, did apologise for his offensive comments, but he, along with KL Rahul, was temporarily suspended by the BCCI. Karan claimed that he had been having sleepless nights just thinking about the incident. He said, “I would still love to have them [cricketers] and welcome them with open arms to my show but I don’t think they’ll come.”
Even the cricketers had kept a distance from the filmmaker and his show ever since they landed in troubled waters. However, all of this seemed like a thing of the past when Karan and Hardik were seen shaking a leg to Dilliwali Girlfriend from Karan’s film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani at the Ambani wedding.

Hardik arrived at the wedding with his brother Krunal. Both players are part of the IPL team Mumbai Indians which is owned by Mukesh Ambani, the father of the groom.
Pandya is currently recovering from a back injury while Rahul is a part of the ODI team playing against Australia. As for Karan Johar, he’s busy promoting his upcoming film Kalank set to release in April.
