Nothing Lasts Forever & Neither Did Kangana Ranaut’s Applause For Deepika Padukone

It’s no secret that actor Kangana Ranaut has always been unabashedly honest about her views. If she has something to say, you can be sure that she’s not going to sugarcoat it. Kangana has burned several bridges in Bollywood just to stand her ground, so you can imagine how surprised she left her fans when she praised Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak a few days before the release.

In a video shared online, Kangana can be seen thanking Deepika for making a movie like Chhapaak, and said it reminded her of her sister Rangoli’s struggles, who is an acid attack survivor. She also added that “people fighting acid attacks will find strength with the film” and that “it is also a tight slap on the face of those who succeeded in their deeds but not intentions.”

That seems like a LOT of praise, especially from Kangana, don’t you think? Watch the entire video below:

But alas, nothing lasts forever, and neither did Kangana’s applause for Deepika. Recently, Kangana was asked to comment on Deepika Padukone’s visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

At first, Kangana tried to be diplomatic, but we all know that diplomacy isn’t her strongest suit. Talking to an entertainment portal, she said, “I think she’s exercising her democratic right which she can. She very well knows what she’s doing. I shouldn’t have an opinion about what she’s doing. It will not be appropriate for me to say she should have done this or that. I can say what I want to do.”

Soon, all that diplomacy went out the window. Kangana said, “I don’t want to support anyone who divides this nation. I don’t want to give power or empower people in the nation who celebrate when a Jawan dies. I don’t want to be with them. So, I can tell what I want but I don’t want to comment on what she should’ve done.”

Well, that was not-so-subtle, Kangana!

When asked to comment on Chhapaak’s box-office performance, she gave a cryptic reply.  “A film has to work on its on merit…When a movie is good, trust me, even the enemies go and watch it. Nobody can resist a good film,” she said.

If you’re confused by her statement…well, same.

On the work front, Kangana is currently promoting her upcoming flick Panga, in which she will be portraying a kabaddi player. The film will hit silver screens on January 24. Meanwhile, Deepika’s Chhapaak is struggling at the box office and has earned a revenue of only 28 crores so far.

Well, we think they’re both brilliant ladies, and hope they go back to supporting each other.
