Ekta Kapoor has been ruling the TV industry with her decade long, dramatic and over the top daily soaps since 1995. She has produced over 130 soap operas under her banner Balaji Telefilms Limited and is the unparalleled queen of the genre. Back in the day, she was referred to as the ‘Queen of K.’ Most of her popular TV serials’ titles began with the alphabet K. Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii were the most talked about and watched shows at that time.
In case you’re unable to recall, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii told the story of Parvati (played by Sakshi Tanwar) and Om (played by Kiran Karmarkar.) The show aired on Star Plus from 2000 to 2008. The show took us through the lives of Parvati, an “ideal sanskari” wife and her husband Om, who lived in a joint Marwadi family. The story, spread over three generations, focuses majorly on Parvati and her struggles as the daughter-in-law, mother and eventually, the grandmother.
Recently, two of Kahaani’s actresses met in New York and fans couldn’t help but get nostalgic. Shweta Kawaatra who played the role of Pallavi and Sweta Keswani who essayed the role of Avantika in the show reunited in Manhattan.
Sweta took to her Instagram to share two pictures of them as they met as well as a still from the series which showcased them in their on-screen avatars.
