While controversies don't seem to end for Padmaavat, we'll skip to happier topics and get straight to Deepika's look in the film. Be it her unibrow, nude make-up or the comeback of bindis, Deepika Padukone’s look in Padmaavat has everyone talking. We wasted no time in speaking to Chandni Singh, a leading make-up artist and Director of Chandni Singh Studio to decode Padmavati’s look.
Just like royalties in real life, Deepika Padukone’s look is all about minimalism, wherein less is more. While there is an emphasis on clear skin, the highlight of her look would have to be her eyes. “Unibrows are usually considered unattractive but if you look closer, her eyes are what’s bringing the look together,” says Chandni Singh.
To achieve her base, try to stick to earthy tones in a matte-finish. Remember, there is no shine on her face, so you can keep it very natural. Start by applying BB cream and then using a concealer for a natural look. “Use a shade lighter than your skintone to highlight your under-eyes, nose and the hollows of your cheek. You can also use a medium-coverage foundation followed by a bronzer for a similar look,” says Singh.

Use a monotone, nude-colour eyeshadow on the dome of your eyes to nail the look. Add to that a wafer-thin eyeliner - you can even finish it with a small wing if you like. Instead of using a stencil on your brows, embrace the natural shape just like Deepika. Fill and line your eyebrows with a pigmented powder and you’re done.

The rule of thumb is to use a shade darker than your natural lip colour. Embrace the nude lip trend and find the perfect nude for your skintone.
Lastly, if you’re attending a wedding or wearing ethnic wear, don’t forget to stick on a bindi. Remember, Deepika puts it right in the centre of the forehead and not above the brow, says Singh.
