11 Times Geet Proved ‘Main Apni Favourite Hoon’ With Her FAB Outfits In Jab We Met

11 Times Geet Proved ‘Main Apni Favourite Hoon’ With Her FAB Outfits In Jab We Met

If we talk about the best characters Bollywood has given us, we cannot NOT have Geet come up in the discussion. Geet played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, is one character that stuck with the audience the most. Ask anyone about Kareena’s best role till date and the answer will be Geet! It is her personality and that can-do attitude that makes her so popular and relatable, especially for a Delhi girl like me, and of course, for all the Sikhni’s of Bhatinda.

Today, on 26th October 2018, our all-time favourite movie Jab We Met completed 11 years and we still remember Geet’s “mast, fattaak” dialogues from the movie like our ABCs. But what we remember better is our love for her outfits in the film. Just like her fun-loving personality, her outfits too were colourful to say the lease. Here are 11 of our favourite Geet outfits from the movie that prove Geet truly was her own favourite… and ours too:

1. When Geet Met Aditya On The Train From Mumbai

Carrying a colourful scarf with the classic blue jeans and white shirt ensemble is just so Geet. And that is how the woman is introduced to us in the movie. With a set of traditional mirror-work bangles in one hand, desi jhumkas in her ears, and an anklet with ghungroos on her feet, Geet had our attention in the opening scene.

2. When Geet Missed Her Train In Ratlam

This is the outfit we saw Geet in the most throughout the movie. A long white T-shirt with a Mughal-e-Azam graphic print on it paired with a bright blue camisole underneath and a traditional Patiala salwar in white, this comfy train outfit is iconic for a whole set of reasons, if you know what I mean.

3. When Geet And Aditya Were On The Road To Bhatinda

Even when she was wearing simple solid kurtas, they had a fun element that made them look anything but boring. Like this reddish-pink kurta with silver sequins on the deep V-neckline and short sleeves. To balance out the outfit, she paired it with beige chinos. How casual! Of course, there are hoops to complete the look.

4. When Geet Reached Bhatinda With Aditya

This outfit is proof that Geet had a shopping stop in Rajasthan right before coming home to Bhatinda, thanks to the fun tunic, the printed scarf, and that quirky handbag. The outfit has a lot of colour in it, especially an OD of red. A simple pair of navy blue jeans were all she needed to not look OTT.

5. When Geet Had Manjeet Coming To ‘See’ Her

Geet wore a lot of kurtis with jeans in the movie but this one right here is my favourite outfit of hers. I have been in love with this dusty pink kurti with contrast embroidery so much that I got one stitched for myself exactly like this when I was in school. I love how she didn’t let go of accessories with anything she wore. The metal bangles and tiny jhumkis here are proof.

6. When Geet And Manjeet’s Rishta Meeting Happened

It’s amazing how she paired a simple, cotton Patiala salwar with a heavy kurta and dupatta, and made it look engagement-worthy effortlessly. And the fact that all three pieces are in a different colour makes this look even more special. It is one of the perfect Diwali looks that Bollywood has given us.

7. When Geet Eloped From Home To Meet Anshuman

Another kurti and jeans look was witnessed in the song Yeh Ishq Hai when Geet elopes with Aditya to get married to Anshuman who lives in Manali. This yellow kurti had a lace border on the hemline and the sheer sleeves, and a contrast embroidery all over. She went for a tight high ponytail with this one, and there were hoops, of course.

8. Geet’s Iconic Outfit From The Movie

The song had a lot of great outfit changes but this one’s legendary – a white crop top with bishop sleeves worn with a black corset and a red long skirt. Even her braids became an instant hit in 2007.

9. When Aditya Imagines Himself Dancing In The Rain With Geet

Geet sure took advantage of the low-waist trend of 2007 but in her own elegant way. She wore a black printed tunic with side slits and a black ethnic skirt, showing just the right amount of skin without scandalising anyone. Ah, so Geet!

10. When Geet (Finally) Leaves Anshuman For Aditya

This suit, just like the scene, was love at first sight. An all-white look doesn’t get better than this. It is worth noticing that all of Geet’s suits and kurtas in the movie were hand embroidered. I love how she paired a sheer dupatta with this look to highlight the same. Run, Geet, run like the wind!

11. When Geet Turned The Glam On In Mauja Hi Mauja

Finally, the song that still lights up the dance floor even today. Mauja Hi Mauja gave us killer dance moves and Kareena’s outfit in it was simply breathtaking. We don’t need to tell you how popular harem pants became after the song came out. She wore a strappy black sequin top with black harem pants and accessorised the look with a silver belt, drop earrings, and a statement cuff.

So, which of these 11 looks is your favourite? We know Geet loves them all just as much as she loves herself.
