There’s a new celebrity baby in Bollywood. After news broke early Thursday morning that Ekta Kapoor became a mother through surrogacy, the TV producer went on to confirm the news on social media. Ekta penned a heartfelt note about becoming a first-time mother and also revealed her son’s name, Ravie Kapoor, after her father Jeetendra whose real name is Ravi Kapoor.

Making the baby announcement, Ekta wrote, “Please send your love and blessings for lil Ravie!” She went on to mention how happy and blessed she felt to become a mother and that she could not wait to begin her journey with her son.

The Kasautii Zindagii Kay creator also mentioned in another post that she had opted for surrogacy after unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant through IUI (Intra-Uterine Insemination) and IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation). The post also confirmed earlier news reports that Ravie was born on Sunday, 27th January, 2019.

Ekta’s house was also decked up to welcome Ravie home.
It was only a matter of time before Bollywood celebrities flocked to social media to wish Ekta and welcome li’l Ravie. These included actress Nimrat Kaur, film producer Sanjay Gupta with whom Ekta has collaborated over several movies like Shootout At Lokhandwala.

Erica Fernandes, who plays Prerna in the same show, also wished her.
However, the sweetest message arrived from none other than Karan Johar. The filmmaker posted an emotional message and picture on Twitter, happily announcing that his twins Roohi and Yash have a new best friend. Both of Karan’s children, who are surrogate babies as well, have been seen sharing play dates with Laksshya, Tusshar Kapoor’s son.

Ekta’s choice to become a parent through surrogacy followed her brother Tusshar’s footsteps, who welcomed his son Laksshya into the family in June 2016. The little Kapoor has since filled up multiple grids on Ekta’s Instagram and she has made no efforts to hide her love for her nephew.

Both Ekta and Tusshar, children of Shobha Kapoor and Jeetendra, are single parents. They also join other celebrities like Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan, Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan as well as Lisa Ray who are also parents through surrogacy.
