My second favourite part about winter is definitely a leather jacket, first being boots obviously. Leather jackets are so chic and warm at the same time, even faux leather. You can pair it with anything--from a basic T-shirt to a slogan sweatshirt. TBH, it makes me sad that I can't take my leather outfits my summer wardrobe.
Or so I thought. Here I am shivering in three layers of clothes with gloves and a beanie in Dilli ki sardi, and there's Deepika Padukone walking around in an all-leather outfit in Mumbai. That's right, leather in the Mumbai weather, I don't get it either! There's a difference of at least 10 degrees Celcius in the temperature here and down South, but DP has managed to survive the Mumbai heat (and humidity) in head-to-toe black leather. All that effort for movie promotions? We applaud Deepika's brave commitment to fashion. Check it out!
Styled by Shaleena Nathani, Deepika wore black leather separates including a three/fourth sleeved high-neck top and belted pants by Proenza Schouler. She completed the look with a pair of black pumps by Christian Louboutin and a set of open hoop earrings by Minerali.
She's on fire! Well, I would be too in so much leather and that means both appearance-wise as well as body temperature-wise.
Whether it is by choice or not, wearing non-seasonal clothes and fashion items is something Bollywood doesn't really give a damn. We know all about Kareena Kapoor's obsession with high boots even in summer. Janhvi Kapoor is often spotted in sweatshirts with mini shorts in Mumbai. For a fact, celebs are often seen wearing patent leather and sweats in the hot months.
Not to sound assuming, but would you trade comfort for style?
On the work front, Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone's first film after Padmaavat (2018) is set to release on January 10. Not to mention, it is also her first film as a producer. The soon-to-turn-34 actress is so busy with promotions that she's going to celebrate her birthday on January 5 in the most unique way. We can't wait for it either!
