What's That On Deepika Padukone's Face? Say Hello To LED Light- Therapy Face Masks

deepika_meme.jpg

Not sure if you noticed this, but Deepika Padukone's Instagram feed has gone through a major makeover in 2021. All of her posts from last year and the years before have mysteriously disappeared. While it's a known fact that Deepika focused a lot on skincare last year, it's good to see her passion for skincare continue in 2021 too.

Only a day ago, Deepika Padukone posted a selfie of herself wearing an LED face mask. If you haven't seen it yet, quickly scroll below!

What On Earth Is Led Light Therapy?

Devices such as face masks and mask treatments emit infrared lights in different wavelengths to your skin. LED therapy is a great technique to prevent premature ageing like fine lines and wrinkles. They also improve the skin's texture by fading away acne scars and brightening up dull skin.

The face mask device that Deepika Padukone has emits red light. The red one helps to promote and boost blood circulation and gives one healthy, supple skin. Different lights cater to specific skin concerns. To stimulate collagen and elastin, pick amber light. For acne-prone skin, blue light is the most effective. And finally, to make skin tighter and firmer, choose white light.

How Long Does It Take & How Effective Is It?

A single session can take you anywhere between 5-25 minutes. For your next question, it depends on where you get the LED treatment done. Home gadgets take longer to show results and are less effective than professional treatments done at your dermatologist's clinic. A home gadget is a one-time investment no doubt, but it won't be able to completely get rid of cysts, blackheads and dark acne scars.

If you're doing it at home, make sure that you read the instructions carefully, put on protective glasses during the treatment and stay away from the sun post-treatment. Usually, the instructions are on the packaging, but if you aren't clear, feel free to check with your dermatologist.

LED treatments can fall expensive as they are anywhere between Rs. 2000- Rs. 5000 per session. To save your money, you can invest in a home gadget for your skin. It's going to be expensive initially but will save you money in the long run and the environment! You can either buy them from India, but they are less expensive abroad. Hence, to save on more money, you could ask a friend travelling home to bring it with them.

Note: To speed up the results, after your light therapy session, apply an anti-ageing cream or hydrating serum.
