Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, several Bollywood celebs, including Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali contracted the virus. While 2021 came with more hope and a COVID vaccine, the pandemic is far from over. Just three months into this year, we've already seen new variants of the virus and an alarming second wave, where the number of daily cases is higher than they were during the peak of the pandemic last year.
Unfortunately, Maharashtra is among the list of worst-hit states, and the virus has not spared anyone, including Bollywood celebs. Over the last few weeks, a large number of celebs have reported testing positive for COVID-19. Here are some celebs who got infected recently.
Taking to Instagram today morning, Bhumi revealed that she has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently under home quarantine. The actress shared that she has mild symptoms while requesting all those who were in close contact with her to get tested at the earliest. She also requested people to not take the current situation lightly and follow all COVID safety norms.
Soon after Bhumi, Vicky also took to Instagram to inform people that he has tested positive for the virus. The Uri: The Surgical Strike actor shared that he is under home quarantine while urging all those who came in contact with him to get tested. Bhumi and Vicky were shooting for their film Mr Lele when they tested positive. Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which is a union of the film industry workers, informed that the shoot has been halted.
Just a few days ago, Ranbir Kapoor made his first public appearance after recovering from COVID-19. But now Alia Bhatt has tested positive for the virus. Through her Instagram, the actress shared that she has tested positive and has isolated herself. "I have tested positive for Covid-19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors. Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care," said Alia.
On April 4, Akshay Kumar informed people that he has tested positive for COVID-19. But just a few hours ago, the actor took to Instagram to share that he has been hospitalised as a precautionary measure as advised by his doctors. Akshay Kumar was shooting for Ram Setu before he tested positive. In fact, soon after his diagnosis, 45 other crew members of the film also tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier this week, Dangal actress Fatima Sana Shaikh tested positive for COVID-19. Fatima shared that she has lost her sense of smell and taste and also has severe body ache. In fact, her co-star Anil Kapoor has been sending her some 'ghar ka khaana' as she recuperates at home.
Music composer Bappi Lahiri was recently admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital after he tested positive for COVID-19. According to the official statement released by his family, the music composer has mild symptoms but has been admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure due to his age.
Aamir was working on the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump called Laal Singh Chaddha when he tested positive for the virus. The actor's spokesperson confirmed the same while urging all those who came in contact with him to get tested.
"Mr. Aamir Khan has tested positive for Covid 19. He is at home in self-quarantine, following all the protocols and he’s doing fine. All those who came in contact with him in the recent past should get themselves tested as a precautionary measure. Thank you for all your wishes and concern," said the spokesperson.
Even after taking the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, veteran actor Paresh Rawal tested positive for the virus. Taking to Twitter, the Hera Pheri star confirmed his diagnosis.

On March 22, Kartik Aaryan took to Instagram to inform his fans that he had tested positive for coronavirus. And now 14 days later, the actor shared the update that he has tested negative. "Negative. 14 din ka vanvaas khatam. Back to work," read his post.
Just two days ago, Aditya informed his fans that he and his wife Shweta have tested positive for COVID-19 and are under home quarantine. "Please stay safe, continue to follow protocol & do keep us in your prayers. This too shall pass," added the actor in his Instagram post.
