Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic desi weddings have become a lot smaller. But that hasn’t stopped the brides from making their D-day special. From planning gorgeous intimate shaadis to hosting a virtual engagement party, couples have been going out and about to ensure that their special day is as memorable as possible. And the bride we’re talking about today did exactly the same. Meet Vasundhara Sharma, who recently tied the knot with her best friend Sandeep Dahiya, in a beautiful wedding ceremony at a temple.
Sharing the images on her Instagram, she wrote, “Never had I imagined that I would get married during a pandemic in such a simple and basic way. Initially, I was heartbroken, I even cried at the thought of not having my closest bunch of family and friends physically around me on my special day. But to my surprise--however, things turned out--every bit of our wedding ceremony was beautiful. Since the scale was small, due to COVID-19, we put in extra thought into every little element.” Well, we agree! You did put a lot of thought into everything, and we’re lovin’ it.
And that's her brother doing her mehendi, cute na?
For her outfit, Vasundhara chose a beautiful red Banarasi saree and looked stunning. Well, you can never go wrong with this fabric, right!? Talking about her outfit, the new bride said that she never left her house for shopping and ordered the saree from Threadz In Needle online. She paired it with a net dupatta from Anokherang.
For jewellery, she wore her mother’s old neck pieces and used one of the necklaces as mathapatti. “I used one of the neck pieces as a mathapatti by jugaad," she added. The pandemic sure has taught about things we never knew or did before.
Vasundhara did her own makeup, and TBH, we can’t get over how beautifully she aced it. Look at that hint of smokey eyes and those fluttery lashes. Wow!
If you’re a bride-to-be who’s planning to do her own makeup, here are some finds that will help you achieve a stunning look:
Coming back to her wedding, the newly married couple also went to a coffee shop to grab their favourite iced coffee and chicken sandwiches just after the shaadi. If this isn’t #couplegoals, what is?
Vasundhara, you looked beautiful and we wish you a lifetime of happiness with Sandeep. May you get your dream celebrations soon.
