Disney recently released the sequel to its fan favourite film Frozen and roped in real-life sisters Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Parineeti Chopra for the Hindi dub. Elsa and Anna's unbreakable bond and unparalleled love for each other made girls everywhere understand that romantic love isn't the only kind of love worth fighting for. After years of stories surrounding the narrative that the prince saves the princess, we were finally told that sisters and women could fight for each other too.
However, fashion critic and anonymous account, Diet Sabya took a dig at the makers of Frozen 2 for setting unrealistic body standards. The critic alleges that the promotional video for the film featuring Priyanka and Parineeti sets unrealistic body standards. Watch the video here:
The caption says, "Can we talk? So now we are promoting feel-good, empowering movies like #frozen2 by setting unrealistic body standards? Really? @disneyfilmsindia @disney — the retouching on this is WILD!! 🤒🥴😪"
Netizens too didn't react well to this and were shocked at Pari and PC's shrunk waistlines.
The project, Frozen 2 (which release on November 22), marks real-life behene Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra's first collaboration. PC had earlier said that she deeply connects with Elsa's highly opinionated character and that the film was a wonderful opportunity. She said, "My happiness just goes up a notch knowing that Parineeti will be voicing Anna’s character. The two of us have never worked together before and this seems like a perfect movie to come together and an experience that I am going to cherish forever."
Pari had also said that Frozen was her favourite animation film and she was too excited about the new film. The Ladies Vs Ricky Behl star said, "You don't need to be an actress to dream of being a Disney princess. I absolutely loved the first film, it's my favourite animation film but never thought that I'd get to voice Anna. But of course, the real cherry on the cake is that I've been cast in a film about sisters with my real-life sister."
The original film cast includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad and has already hit the theatres. Well, we just can't wait for the Frozen 2 version of Let It Go becoming everyone's fave song.
