Jaan Kumar Comes With A Legacy: Shehzad Deol’s Eviction Triggers Nepotism Debate In BB

Jaan Kumar Comes With A Legacy: Shehzad Deol’s Eviction Triggers Nepotism Debate In BB

Following the nepotism debate in the entertainment industry earlier this year, Bigg Boss 14 was off to a shaky start after the audience shunned its first promo and declared that they plan to boycott the show. As you might be aware that Salman Khan’s name has constantly been raised in the nepotism outrage that the nation has shown after Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise.

And while the audience and nation have been taking it out on Bollywood clans allegedly behind all the nepotism that exists in the industry, Salman also irked the netizens with his dialogue in the first teaser of Bigg Boss 14. In the video, he could be seen eating popcorn while sitting in an empty cinema hall and saying “Manoranjan pe 2020 ne uthaye prashn, denge uttar manate hue jashn. Ab scene paltega.” The audience took it as a challenge and angered by the perceived provocation, declared that Bigg Boss 14 is going to be the most flop season of the show ever.

Now, with the current circumstances, you would expect both the makers and Salman to be more vigilant of the problem at hand, right? Well, that does not seem like the case given the kind of out and out favouritism that Jaan Kumar Sanu has been receiving in the house. In fact, the recently evicted contestant, Shehzad Deol has alluded to the same by commenting on his shocking eviction and saying “I don’t know what to say on this. Of course, Jaan comes with a legacy but we freshers are also trying our best. I feel audience voting should happen so such kind of debates do not happen on social media.”

Here’s what has actually happened:

Shehzad’s Unfair Elimination

Let it be known that Shezad has not been eliminated from the show on the basis of public voting. In the recent “Weekend ka Vaar” Salman had announced the bottom three contestants and then broke the news that the eviction would be based on internal voting this week. While Abhinav Shukla, Shehzad Deol, and Jaan Kumar Sanu were announced as the bottom three contestants, the rest of the housemates were asked to vote against them.

Shehzad is really pissed with the way he has been eliminated from the show and thinks that it’s downright unfair to leave his fate on fellow contestants while the show follows a public voting format. He has commented on the same, by saying, “I am really upset at the manner in which I was ousted from the show. When you sign up for the show, you know it is a show where it is about public voting. I can understand if they are bringing twists, and leaving the final decisions to others. But then, people should be informed in advance so they can make strategies accordingly.”

Further highlighting the sheer unfairness of the situation, he added, “And they should give a chance in such cases to freshers to fight for their spot. I did not even get a chance to do a task and save myself. I am pretty upset about it. Also, I feel bad for the audience that votes in large numbers. You are playing with their sentiments.”

Salman Khan’s Ties With Kumar Sanu

This is the second week that Jaan Kumar has been nominated to be evicted from the house. And all this while, for some strange reason, the elimination powers always end up in the hands of those present in the house. This has never happened this early in the Bigg Boss house and the audience have been feeling that all of this is being done to save Jaan Kumar and keep him in the show.

In case you don’t know, Jaan’s father Kumar Sanu has been an integral part of Salman’s film career and has lent his voice to a huge chunk of Salman Khan songs. In fact, the favouritism debate first found its spark when Jaan Kumar was introduced in a press conference along with the seniors as an integral part of Bigg Boss 14 even before the show started. The netizens are really miffed with whatever’s happening in the Bigg Boss house and the outrage has been further fuelled by Shehzad’s elimination.
