Kem chho? Majja ma?
For most of us, the Navratris means a week full of garba and dandiya night! For gujjus, this time of the year means plenty of socialising, revelry, and matchmaking. For us fashion girls, it is an opportunity to flaunt what your wardrobe's got.
For the unaware, garba clothing is all about vibrant colours and traditional Gujarati details like tie-and-dye and mirrorwork. Which is why when we saw Bhumi Pednekar serving us this Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla look, it was a lightbulb moment TBH.
A piece from the designer duo's Asal by Abu Sandeep line, this pret Anarkali features stunning sunset hues of orange, amber, red, and violet. Though a ready-to-wear number this angrakha style Anarkali suit seems like it was tailor-made for Bhumi, doesn't it?
The colour palette looks incredible on her but what amazed us is the silhouette and the fit of the floor-length Anarkali. Why we believe this is a perfect outfit for dandiya night is because of the unique peacock-feather-inspired pattern, the mirror-work like statement details... and, not to be missed, the glorious fall of the pleated skirt of the suit.
So, when you're shaking a leg on the dandiya dance floor, this Navratri, the movement of the suit will add more drama to your look. Isn't that what we all want from our Indian outfits? Without all the fuss, might I add. It's not a lehenga, so no pulling the waistband up every 5 minutes. You can leave your worries behind thanks to this relatively light suit.
The dupatta that Bhumi was carrying with this designer suit is also super light with just a decorative border. Perfect to wear to a dance party, right?

Oh, and before I forget, the back of this ensemble is just as stunning as the front. The square-cut waist length back on Bhumi Pednekar's Indian look adds a touch of 'sexy'. Watch out, boys!
Bhumi accessorised with Indian drop earrings. That's it. And truthfully, she didn't need anything else with all that drama on the Anarkali. Amirite? We've also concluded that if you want to show off your curves, take notes from Bhumi.
If you want to take a more fusion route - and so does your boyfriend - follow Gigi and Zayn's dandiya night cue.
