All the rumours doing the rounds on social media were true. Beyoncé was indeed in India for an electrifying performance at Isha Ambani’s and Anand Piramal’s pre-wedding ceremony in Udaipur. As expected, the American singer was the highlight of the evening, which was already brimming with other A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Hillary Clinton and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Beyoncé was the final performance of the evening and ‘Queen B’ performed to some of her most famous songs, including Crazy In Love and Perfect.

The Grammy Award-winning singer also sported different outfits through the evening, which she showed off on her Instagram account.

She kicked off proceedings dressed in a stunning Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensemble and changed into two more looks after she took the stage.

While the exact amount that Beyoncé received for her performance is not known, it does look like the Ambanis spared no expense to get her to Udaipur and make the evening perfect for their daughter. The singer reportedly had charged more than a whopping US$3 million (Rs 21.4 crores) for her performance at Coachella earlier this year. The richest family in India, the Ambanis had hosted a private John Legend concert in Lake Como, Italy, where Isha Ambani got engaged earlier this year. Isha’s wedding invitation (that went to world leaders and Bollywood celebrities) cost them Rs 3 lakhs each. The heiress is definitely getting a wedding of her dream!
This was the second time Beyoncé was performing in India. Back in 2007, the singer was steadily climbing the charts after splitting from Destiny’s Child and was in Mumbai for the Asian leg of The Beyoncé Experience World Tour.
Beyoncé was among several other celebrities flown in for the weekend to perform at the Ambani’s pre-wedding function. The exhaustive list featured all the three big Khans (Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir), Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan as well as former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Newlyweds Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were also present. Isha Ambani was one of Priyanka’s bridesmaids at her Christian wedding.
The wedding party is flying off to Mumbai next. Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal are all set to tie the knot in the city on December 12, in what is expected to be one of the most glamorous weddings of the year.
