The future looks bright for our birthday girl, Janhvi Kapoor. This year, she's got 4 interesting films lined up, 'Ghost Stories', 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl', 'Dostana 2' and 'Roohi Afzana', ready to hit the silver screens. While the world has all praise of Janhvi's acting skills and fashion sense, we love her for her choice in makeup. She's one of the few actresses in B-Town who has a unique relationship with makeup. Somedays, she keeps it soft and natural and on other days, she adds a light pop of colour, glow and glitter to her makeup look on the 'Gram. In a nutshell, her IG feed is a visual treat for the eyes!
The kind of lessons that will stick with us for a lifetime!
Matte is so passé - even Janhvi will tell you that! Over here, her lips have simply been outlined with a brown lip liner and the pout is filled in with a transparent gloss. This is a simple makeup trick that's used to give one the illusion of a fuller pout.
The irony of makeup is that it shouldn't look like you have a lot of it on your face. Makeup should look natural, fresh and accentuate your existing features (Just how Janhvi keeps it) In this picture, there isn't a hint of colour at sight. Her base looks flawless, her long lashes are coated with mascara, sheer lip colour on the pout, a pop of highlighter on the cheeks and that's about it! To make those eyes pop like Janhvi's, don't forget to apply white liner on your waterline.
If you've noticed, Janhvi rarely opts for dramatic eyeliner styles. However, she is an evident fan of tightlining. What is that, you ask? It's basically eyeliner that's placed one your upper waterline to fill the gaps between your lashes. The same can be recreated on the lower waterline. This helps to add definition and draw attention to the eyes.
Life without colour is so boring, don't you agree? We're glad that Janhvi is on the same page with us here. She's stuck those bright, sticky stones on her lids that give the effect of a rainbow winged-eyeliner - just a more blingy one, of course!
Janhvi, has two lipstick moods - pink and red. When it's the latter, it's safe to say that she's on a mission to slay! Keeping the rest of her makeup minimal and only the red pout in focus - you too can learn how to turn heads just like Janhvi.
Many of us are obsessed with fine, properly-shaped brows. That's not the case with Janhvi. She lets them be as they are and max to max just uses a spoolie to groom them. No product added, no tinting done - just taking the natural route.
Janhvi may not touch her brows, but she always makes it a point to get her lashes coated with mascara. Come to think of it, this is one way to look instantly fresh and awake when you're feeling sluggish.
Glitter looks best when it's either on the nails or on the lids. In this case, Janhvi's lids. An important point to note that when you do apply glitter on the lids, don't apply it anywhere else. Keep the rest of your makeup soft and let your glittery lids steal the show.
When Janhvi dresses up for an event, she always makes it a point to have ALOT of highlighter on! Especially above the cheekbones, down the bridge of her nose and on the inner corners of her eyes. It's a product you too shouldn't miss if you have an important function at night coming up.
Janhvi also taught us how important it is to go makeup-free somedays. Allowing your skin to breathe and keeping it moisturised is bound to give it that healthy glow. This picture is proof that our girl loves her skin when she's either with or without makeup.
