None of us, including celebs, have managed to escape the wrath of the internet, thanks to the trollers on social media. No matter where this trolling comes from, it does damage. Everyone is misjudged and that's what makes Bani J's music video against trolls, so relatable.
Gurbani Judge aka VJ Bani has always been a 'sorry, not so sorry' kinda girl. Like many others, she's been trolled with words like "manly" and "too muscular", so the braveheart has made a kickass music video to convey a message to dear trollers.
The video, called Miss Judged, is a part of the show Trolled for a digital channel, Rise By TLC. A statement of Bani reads, "'Mard… half mard', 'Kya karna cha rahi ho? (What do you want to do)', 'Who will get married to you', 'Tattoo ki dukan' — A lot of people like to throw these words around just like they love to throw their opinions in your face."
In an interview with IANS, Bani revealed that she was excited when she was approached for the song. "I really do believe that judging people and making assumptions about them is completely pointless. Like, who are we to judge one another? It’s all ego and insecurity driven and it’s never going to be productive or fruitful."
She added, "Let this video be a reminder to you beautiful supportive lot to not look for validation from outside of yourselves, don’t get into that column and box just to make someone else happy, do what feels right for you, what makes you happy. Look within, it’s there. All you ever need. I have never gotten any kind of happiness by succumbing to someone else’s definition of me or what I am supposed to be like.”
In the world that's made of "brotherhood of men" and not-so-logical judgments, if you're "Miss Judged", powerful lines from the video like, "Is that all you've got? Just hating on my body. Sorry, not so sorry that my physical being challenges your every idea and notion but I've been drinking that self-love potion," will have you feeling ready for life and whatever's coming, so, hit play, now!
