How safe are everyday interactions that are meant to be super simple? If a recent case is anything to go by, not quite. Hitesha Chandranee, beauty and fashion influencer, recently shared a video on her Instagram where she has alleged that she was attacked by a Zomato delivery executive. In the three-minute-long video posted mere hours ago on her profile, Bangalore-based Hitesha narrated the ordeal and how it ultimately led to her being injured.
In the video, she describes a conversation that led to the Zomato delivery executive losing his temper and punching her. “My Zomato order was late and I was talking to the customer care executive and in the meanwhile, the delivery person did this. He hit me, left me bleeding here and ran off,” she says in the clip. Scroll to take a look at the video.
Hitesha describes in the video that she was trying to sort out the details of the delayed order with the Zomato customer care. Further, she alleges that the delivery executive was uncooperative while she was still trying to work it out. “I gave him a choice saying I do not need the order so you can take it, I am okay. But he refused to take the order back and then again he started screaming at me, saying ‘Am I a slave or what? You are asking me to wait for such a long time.’ It was really threatening for me and I tried shutting my door but he pushed the door, snatched the order from my house, that is he entered my home and punched me on my face so that I don’t get back to him, and he ran away,” she details in the clip. She also detailed how the incident led to her requiring surgery, with her nasal bone being broken.
On the same Instagram post, which has garnered lakhs of views, Zomato shared their apology in a comment, stating that they would be taking necessary action to prevent such an incident. Take a look at it below.
