Remember the child bride, Anandi from the TV show Balika Vadhu? The show followed the life of a young girl who became a victim of child marriage. The story was set in a rural village in Rajasthan. Later on, Balika Vadhu became the longest running daily Hindi fiction show on TV, breaking the record of 1833 episodes, previously set by Ekta Kapoor’s show Kyunki… Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Avika was just 12 when she bagged the role of Anandi and became a household name within a few months of its release. However, after a five-year leap, Avika had to quit the show because she didn’t want to work on intimate scenes before she turned 18.
Avika recently took to Instagram to share some bold dance moves and we have to say, the bubbly bride, Anandi has transformed into a beauty. We went through her Instagram and boy, we want to learn all the dance moves that she has been flaunting of late.

After Balika Vadhu, Avika essayed the role of Roli, the protagonist Simar aka Dipika Kakar’s sister in the show Sasural Simar Ka. The 13-year-old Avika was paired opposite 32-year-old Manish Raisinghan. Their fans loved their sizzling chemistry on the small screen. Reportedly, there were rumours that the two were dating, however, they constantly denied the rumours. In an interview with a leading daily, the actress opened up and said, “Manish is just a few years few younger than my father, so there is no scope for any romantic involvement. We share a unique bond of friendship, which is inexplicable. It is based on understanding, respect, honesty, and maturity. We are BFFs and he is a strong support system.”
Her Cannes Appearance, Second Time In A Row
In 2017, Avika and Manish attended the Cannes film festival together for a screening of their short film I, Me, Myself (a social drama). Written by Avika herself and directed by Manish, the film was amongst the top 20 movies that got selected from the entries received from 33 countries.
Avika was also seen performing the action-packed stunts on the show Khatron Ke Khiladi 9. That’s when her fans saw her sans saree and sindoor, for the first time on the small screen

Avika took up dancing after she was stalked by the troll brigade a while ago. The actor, who is active on social media often uses it as a medium to connect with her fans. The actress revealed that she was body shamed while she was doing the TV show, Lado 2-Veerpur Ki Mardani. But, she ain’t no damsel in distress. Avika gave a befitting answer to her trolls! “I remember when I was doing Laado – Veerpur Ki Mardani, I had many comments on social media about me being fat. But it didn’t bother me and I took it positively. I made sure I lose weight and then I picked up dancing. People started saying how fit I’ve become,” the actress had shared with a media daily.
Well, she sure looks fit and fab! We can’t wait to see her terrific acting skills again!
