Badhaai Ho! Bollywood Has Got Another Cop With A Moustache & It’s Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurana has always managed to woo his magic on the silver screen with his compelling performances. Whether it’s an intense character in a thriller like Andhadun or a sweet family guy in Badhaai Ho, Ayushmann proves that there’s no role in Bollywood that he can’t ace. Now the first look of his new movie Article 15 is out and we’re wondering if he’s going to beat Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn with his portrayal of a cop.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film has begun its shooting in Lucknow and is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination against any citizen on the basis of his/her religion, race, caste, colour, sex and place of birth. The first look of the movie was revealed today and we haven’t been able to get over Ayushmann’s dashing police avatar since.

Why so serious, Ayushmann? It looks like he is in the middle of an investigation, with papers in his hand and a pair of sunglasses on his face. The moustache is a nice tough, don’t you think?

Talking about his role in Article 15, Ayushmann admitted that he had always been intrigued by the socio-political situation of our country, but had hardly seen films which presented it in an unbiased way. “Anubhav Sinha is one such director who understands the complexities of our country. I loved Mulk. It is the most balanced film based on communalism and extremism. And it will be an absolute pleasure to work with him on Article 15,” he expressed.

The movie will also star Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in prominent roles. Anubhav Sinha described Article 15 as “an investigative drama where the audience too is an accused party.” Now, doesn’t that sound exciting?

Meanwhile, Ayushmann has two more films lined up, Dreamgirl, a romantic comedy directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, co-starring Nushrat Bharucha and Amar Kaushik’s Bala opposite Bhumi Pednekar.
