Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were one of Hollywood’s most loved couples. Their red carpet appearances, vacation pictures and onscreen chemistry were something that fans looked forward to. The couple started dating on the sets of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2004. At the time of filming, Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston and Angelina had recently filed for divorce from Billy Bob Thornton. After 10 years of dating, the couple tied the knot in 2014.

They denied rumours of dating each other and then in an interview with a magazine, Angelina said, “I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realised, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work.'”
The couple has six kids together, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox. Maddox, Zahara and Pax were adopted from orphanages in Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam respectively. Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox are their biological children. Fondly known as Brangelina, the couple sent the celebrity world in shockwaves when they announced their split on 2016 citing possible child abuse as Brad lost his temper in front of some of the children. The two had a bitter child custody dispute.
We’ve made guesses, surfed the internet and even heard from the gossipmongers, but never really found out the real reason behind Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce. The couple remained taciturn about why they parted ways.

But now, Angelina has finally spilled the beans and answered the most asked question about their separation. In a conversation with a weekly, the actress revealed, “No relationship is ever just black-and-white, and while Brad and I have such different points of view regarding numerous matters, what led to our divorce primarily were different ideas of how to bring our children up.”
She further added something you probably never saw coming, “His addiction to alcohol was the reason why he lost many opportunities in Hollywood. He was even jealous because I wouldn’t let him promote my business. Nonetheless, he’s the father of my children and I don’t want to talk about it too much.”

Post the divorce, Brad was investigated by The LA Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI and was cleared of all charges. In fact, Angelina Jolie’s attorneys said in a court filing that Brad hadn’t paid any ‘meaningful’ child support since they split.
