From Tampons To Feminism: 11 Things You’ll Get If You Went To An All-Girls School

From Tampons To Feminism: 11 Things You’ll Get If You Went To An All-Girls School

If you’re from an all-girls school, you know that ‘fraternizing with the boys was as big a crime as not having your ‘hands behind your back’! Going to a school with just girls may have seemed like the worst thing that could happen to you as a teenager, but it sure did have its perks. And it comes with an experience of a lifetime.

Your all-girls school might have had ‘strict’ rules and no boys, but it did give you a no-filter environment and female friendships that’ll last a lifetime. So while you may have cribbed about it back then, we’re 1000% sure that when you look back now, you truly appreciate what you learnt at your all-girls school. So, here are some things that you’ll definitely relate to if you’ve spent your school years in an all-girls institute.

1. Drama Is Life

You feed off the drama and the gossip. Female friendships include a lot of drama and you’ve seen it all in school. There’s no way you can stop the gossip from spreading but you’re a pro at damage control! Handling a room full of dramatic girls is cakewalk for you.

2. All About The Boys

God forbid if a boy walked into your school or a good looking male teacher. You’d leave no stone unturned to check them out and you did not just have a crush…you married them in your head (but only after you called dibs).

3. Eat Like A Lady?

Yeah, that’s never gonna happen. The concept of ‘eat like a lady’ was, is and will always remain foreign to you. And we all know that lunchtime was beyond messy.

4. Mean Girls Is Real

That movie is as real as it can get because there is a pecking order! There is that group of the IT girls and you do not want to get into trouble with them. You just want to fake-smile and walk away.

5. Yes, Girls CAN Be Friends

Means Girls or not, you’re still friends with your girl world buddies till date. And you strongly disagree with anyone who thinks girls can’t be friends. While there are a few rotten apples in the basket, you have seen true female friendships and you value them more than life itself.

6. DOES ANYONE HAVE A TAMPON/PAD?

Asking for a pad or a tampon was never a big deal. And the best part is that you did not have to hide it away in some secret pocket of your bag and fold it in a book to smuggle it to the washroom. You could always yell and ask the friend on the other side of the classroom for a spare pad and walk with it without having to worry about being embarrassed.

7. The Boys-Only School Next Door

It didn’t matter if it was the one next door or the one down the street, nothing could stop you from ‘fraternizing’ with the boys. There was something really thrilling about watching your crush walk out of school when the bell rang or even better…meeting him at the inter-school festival or competition.

8. Feminism & Sisterhood

Your dating skills might suck but you’re a true feminist and it all started in school. It not only empowered you but taught you to value sisterhood and it was your first initiation to feminism.

9. Over-Sharing? What’s That?

There’s nothing called over-sharing. You’re always giving away too much information without even realising that. You’re completely comfortable with talking about your vajajay and your BFF’s sex life!

10. Comfort Level On-Point!

Adjusting the twins or your bra or pulling up your pants in public is nothing to be ashamed of! You did it throughout school and no one can make you feel uncomfortable about it. After all, men do scratch that itch in public…that too without any shame!

11. Uniform Is #FashionGoals

We don’t need to repeat it, but we’re going to do it anyway. Women don’t dress up for men and the students of an all-girls’ school is proof. You did not roll up that skirt for the boys. And you sure as hell did not style that boring pinafore in chic ways for anyone but yourself! A girl’s gotta do what she gotta do.

If that didn’t make you go ‘that’s me’, we don’t know what will! From changing in front of the girls to having a ramp walk sesh in the corridor, you’ve done it all in your all-girls school and you’ll cherish those moments for life!
