It’s no longer a secret that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have been dating for a while now. The two grew closer on the sets of Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. They made their first appearance together as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding and have constantly made headlines for their pictures on Instagram.
Alia hosted a Q&A session on Twitter yesterday and was answering questions from her fans, when someone put a rather curious question across, asking if she could be called ‘Alia Kapoor’. Take a look below.

In typical Alia style, she was ready with a snappy, playful response to the tweet and asked the Twitter user if she could call him with her surname instead. Here’s what she said.

If Karan Johar is to be believed, Alia and Ranbir have been dating for more than a year now. The Koffee With Karan host accidentally let loose on the show that the two were a couple long before they started shooting for Brahmastra and even before Sonam’s wedding. Alia was joined by Ranbir ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone for the same episode.

Neither actors had then confirmed the rumours, but the subtle hints of their relationship blossoming into something bigger (a 2019 wedding perhaps?) are ever-present online. Remember the time when Ranbir rushed to help Alia when she had injured her foot?
Alia had also shared a series of pictures on her Instagram account and we were all astounded to find that Ranbir was behind the lens for all those shots. Alia had even captioned the posts giving credit to ‘RK’ for the photos.

Recently, Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt also confirmed the relationship when he told a leading daily how Ranbir was a ‘great guy’ and that his daughter and the Barfi actor were indeed in love. Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor had also reportedly verified that his son is in a relationship, earlier this year, while showering love on Alia.

While Ranbir was spotted at the Ambani’s sangeet ceremony in Udaipur, Alia had given it a miss. In a role-reversal, Alia had famously gone without her partner to the Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal wedding on Wednesday, as Ranbir had given it a miss.
On the work front, the two are rounding up shooting for Brahmastra, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Alia revealed in her Q&A that the movie is slated to release around Christmas 2019.
