Did You Spot Alia Bhatt's Mother In The 'Raazi' Trailer? Because We Did!

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi trailer got the whole country talking about her character Sehmat, a trained Kashmiri-Indian spy who married a Pakistani Army officer to provide India with classified information during the 1971 war. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Raazi is based on the novel Calling Sehmat by ex-naval officer, Harinder Sikka, which is based on a true story.

The movie has action, drama, passion, emotions and also, Alia Bhatt's mom! Yes, you read that right. You'll be seeing beautiful Soni Razdan acting next to her talented daughter Alia in Raazi.

A glimpse of Soni Razdan can also be seen in the trailer, where she's standing between Alia and Vicky (who is playing Sehmat's husband).

Earlier, in her interview with a leading daily, Alia Bhatt spoke about her parent's reaction to the trailer. She also revealed Razdan's role in Raazi.

The 25-year-old actress said, "My parents have been very involved with Raazi'. My mother has even acted in the film. They’ve both seen the trailer. The first time my dad saw the trailer, he was sitting a little away from our dining area and watching it intently on his laptop. Suddenly, we heard a whistle. That’s how we knew he’s liked it. Though my mother has acted in the film, she had tears in her eyes when she saw the trailer. She said, ‘It’s very moving and gritty.'"

The Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal who is seen playing a Pakistani Army official recently shared his views on working with Alia with a leading publication. He said, "It was amazing. I think she is one of the most talented actors we have in our country today. It was amazing to work with her because she is very good at her job. She is a very humble being as well."  

Everything about Raazi including Sehmat's heroic sacrifices and seeing this mother-daughter duo working together for the first time, is worth the excitement! The movie is set to hit the big screen on 11th May.
