Reality, What’s That? 5 Bollywood Movie Endings That Were Too Unrealistic To Be True

From dancing barefoot in the middle of the street with bae to falling for a stranger on a Swizterland trip, Bollywood’s set unreal standards since always. But you know what’s the worst bit? The endings. Don’t get us wrong, we love our filmy love stories but we only wish they were more real at times. The riding off into the sunsets with a complete stranger seems too far-fetched at times. I mean how often have you reconnected with your crush from childhood and gotten married to him?

Bollywood has this terrible obsession with giving its viewers a happy ending, even if it doesn’t make sense and we’ve rounded up a few examples for you. Go ahead and have a look.

This is the movie that gave new meaning to best-friend romances. I think we all wanted to get married to our BFF’s back in the day thanks to this flick, right? That is still acceptable but what’s not acceptable is how the movie played out in the end. Anjali gets married to her first love after all that drama, and all’s well in the world. But wait, why? We understand how Rahul wanted to be with Anjali cause of her makeover but why would Anjali even forgive him let alone get married to him? Would Rahul even be marrying Anjali had Tina been alive? No, right? The worst bit was dumping a total cutie like Aman. Really bad decision-making skills, Anjali!

Okay, this one’s gotta be one of my all time fave movies. YJHD showed us the difficulty of growing up and maintaining relationships and the price of putting your careers first. I really enjoyed how the makers maturely dealt with Aditi and Avi’s relationship. Brownie points for not getting their characters married at the end. Now, I would’ve been happy if they’d showed the same maturity towards Bunny and Naina’s characters. Bunny’s sudden undying declaration of love in the end was just too much to digest, right?  The movie should’ve ended when Ranbir Kapoor left after Aditi’s wedding. But no, Bollywood had to go ahead and make it unreal.

I really would like to talk about the unrealistic AF ending of this classic movie. Why would someone who is travelling the world to reunite with her lover suddenly decide to stay married to the guy she had barely spoken to after their wedding? Bollywood, I’d really like an explanation for this one. Nandini wasn’t one for traditions so it was kinda silly to show her talk about marriage and choose Vanraj in the end over her pyaar. It would’ve been so good to see her unite with Sameer, right?

Dear makers, we know you tried really hard to show the complicated love lives of today’s generation but we think you took it too far. Meera got married to her ideal guy because she loved him and then suddenly decided she was in love with her ex on the first day of her married life? Really? And then Jai, who didn’t know she was divorced, magically turned up after all those years to pursue her? Whattt? I don’t think we’ll ever be convinced with this ending.

One of the best movies of all times, in my opinion! The film shed light on the harsh truth of Indian parents constantly meddling with their children’s life. Totally relatable, right? It was refreshing to watch Jazz not take any nonsense and stand up for herself, unlike other bechari characters. But what really happened in the end? Jazz was so confident about her decision of marrying Charlie and not compromising on her lifestyle. Which is why it was heartbreaking to watch her throw it all away for the so-called perfect ending. Sorry Arjun but Jazz-Charlie would’ve made a whole lot of sense to us.

Reality:100, Bollywood:0,

We do enjoy a great love story but let’s try taking it down a notch or two, Bollywood. This entire jab aap kisi se pyar karte hai toh puri kaynat aapko usey milane mein lag jaati hai BS never really happens in real life, does it? If it does, I’d really like to date my crush back from the 8th grade. Also, BRB, going to watch Namastey London RN and imagine a different ending.
