How do you guys tackle irritation ? My roomie I find her small small habits annoying. I know I should be minding my own business. But it just doesn't seem to help. I don't want to shout at her for something but I end up doing it and then feel guilty whole day about it "That I should have just let it go". But this thought comes in my mind only after telling her things which I don't like. How do I stop it. | POPxo

You have to adjust. There maybe habits of yours that she might find annoying too. My roommate acts really fussy in the mornings. She is super rude and gets pissed soon. So what I do is just avoid talking to her in morning and avoid doing things that gets her pissed. If there are certain things that you don't like and can't bear at all, then tell her. But don't keep doing so. Remember that even she is adjusting.

Talk to her about it. She's your roommate. She's your friend. She will understand. After all, living in the same space requires adjustment and compromise from both sides. Maybe there are a few habits that she would happily let go if she knows they're really bothering you. Shouting is never a viable option. It only makes things worse. Keep calm and talk about it in general conversation. Not just when you're irritated.

Staying with a person as a room mate, there's bound to be things you dislike and habits you don't approve of. But you have to learn and accept them and live with it. That's what hostels are for, they teach how to live with new and different people. Try to see her as your companion, accept her flaws and ignore little things. Learn to adjust. You'll realise then how good friends roomies can be and what a wonderful time you can have with them, once you overcome this problem.

Try and ignore. If you can't handle your anger, move out of the room for some time till you calm down...and then come back.. you have to adjust sweetie
