You Won’t Believe The Money That Was Spent On Making These 6 Flop Bollywood Movies

After two years of a global pandemic, movies are hitting the big screen in full swing now. Fans sure are heading back to the theatres with great expectations. But often, some of these much-anticipated movies fail to deliver. There have been numerous Bollywood duds that failed to live up to the hype in 2022. And no amount of A-list talent or glossy promotions could salvage their crash. The makers spent a lot of money on these movies, but got no results. Well, in this kind of a budget, we could’ve got a Rolls Royce each for our entire team.

Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva

While some loved this movie, a lot of viewers criticised it. Despite the razzle-dazzle, non-stop VFX, and stellar cast of the movie, Ayan Mukherji’s astraverse failed to live up to our expectations. Even after 11 years of planning and spending more than 400-Cr, the movie had a terrible plot and dialogues. The number of times we heard Alia screaming “Shivaa” made us bang our heads on the wall.

Samrat Prithviraj

Historic films often fare well among Indian audiences, but this YRF movie wasn’t one of them. This Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar starrer was a 300-Cr budgeted movie. However, it recorded a serious dip and couldn’t touch the 100-Cr mark. The makers apparently blamed the Welcome actor for the film being a major flop at Box Office.

Shamshera

Ranbir and Vaani’s Shamshera was another substandard watch that heavily failed at winning the audience’s heart. The makers spent Rs 150 crores but it couldn’t make any impact and was a 2.5-hour long snoozefest. Despite being marketed as an ‘IMAX watch’, the movie couldn’t garner the star power of south hits like RRR or KGF.

Laal Singh Chaddha

The ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ of Bollywood, Aamir Khan failed miserably with his recent launch Laal Singh Chaddha. And even Kareena’s presence couldn’t do any good to the movie and it received lackluster reviews and unsavoury audience feedback. LSC was produced on a tight budget of Rs 180 crores but only managed to garner Rs 50 crore.

Dhaakad

One of the biggest colossal flops of 2022, Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad was yanked off most screens a day after its release. As per the viewers, the film fell woefully short in almost every department of film-making. It was an outright disaster by selling just 20 tickets across the country, earning Rs 4,420.

Jersey

Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey turned out to be a disappointing affair at the box office despite spending Rs 80 crore. The film had a clash with KGF 2, which made it pretty evident that Jersey will not be the first choice for the moviegoers. And despite Shahid’s great acting, the movie couldn’t even cross Rs 20 crore at the ticket windows.
