From being trolled for their outfits to being called out for their film choices—Bollywood celebs go through a lot. Recently, Malaika Arora became the target of trolls during her recent fashion outing. Remember when the actress showed up in a black sheer gown for Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s wedding party? We think she looked fabulous, however, a certain faction of netizens started commenting on her outfit choice. Malaika didn’t take it lying down and she gave an apt reply to trolls in a recent interview.
While talking to a leading daily, Malaika said that all she could hear was that the dress looked amazing. She also said that “people are hypocrites”. She further shared, “The same thing you would see on a Rihanna, you would see on a JLo (Jennifer Lawrence) or a Beyonce and you’d be like, ‘Wow!’ and I love them! I think they’re women who inspire me every single day of mine. The same thing you do over here, immediately they’re like ‘what is she doing? She’s a mother, she’s this, she’s that!’”
That’s not it, the actress raised a valid point by saying if people can appreciate it on International stars then why not on everybody else? She said, ‘Make it a universal outlook, you know? I mean why have these double standards?”
In the same interview, she was also asked if she gets affected by trolls, to which Malaika truthfully replied ‘yes’. She further added that initially, it was worse, because it was new at the time but now she’s learned to brush it aside.
Dear trolls, if you don’t have anything nice to say, how about not saying anything at all? As for Malaika, we’re glad the actress gave the perfect reply to trolls. Here’s hoping she continues to give us major #FashionGoals always.
