When it comes to romantic proposals, Bollywood has spoilt us completely. The boy realises his love for the girl and then confesses his feelings in front of the whole world. That’s pretty much the climax of almost all romantic Hindi movies and we can never get enough of it. But, real life is a bit different as instead of grand gestures, a lot of people like to keep things simple and sweet—including some of our fave B-town celebs. We’re talking about Yami Gautam, who tied the knot with director Aditya Dhar on June 4.
In a recent interview, the actress had revealed that it took her only two days to prepare for the intimate ceremony as it all happened so suddenly. We were defs surprised to see her wedding pics on Instagram and were quite curious to know about her love story. Well, we finally have some answers. Yami appeared on the talk show, The Kapil Sharma Show, for the promotion of her movie, Bhoot Police that released on September 10. She shared how her husband popped the question to her and turns out, he never really did!
During the interview, Krushna Abhishek asked the actress when and how Aditya asked for her hand and she replied, “Propose hi nahi kiya tha (He did not propose at all).” Interestingly, neither of them proposed to each other. She added, “Kisi ne nahi kiya. Shaadi ho gayi (No one proposed, we just got married).”
While talking to a leading daily earlier, Yami had revealed about the time when she realised that Aditya was the one for her. She said, “You just know it in your gut. It’s not something that you can really describe. You just know it. When you start understanding the person’s value system, and what family he belongs to. You don’t have to have similarities or share common things in your interests, but have similarities in your value system and in your ethics. And we share that a lot. I have a lot of respect for Aditya and I had a lot of respect for him as a professional and as a person.”
Well, Bollywood proposals are amazing and all, but the feeling of knowing in your heart that you have found your soulmate is the best thing ever! Yami and Aditya’s sweet love story is one of our fave Bollywood love stories of all time.
