Being A Demon Is Hard! 12 WTF Thoughts I Had While Watching Colors TV’s New Show ‘Pishachini’

I have always been intrigued by the supernatural genre and TBH daily soaps are more fun when you add in a paranormal element. While growing up, I would wait for the whole week to watch Aahat, Shhh…Koi Hai among other shows. So, when I saw the trailer of the new supernatural show, called Pishachini, I had to check it out.

Given how most Hindi horror shows are just silly and disappointing, I was prepared for the worst with Pishachini. NGL, the show did surprise me for a moment or two, but those moments were fleeting and far too limited. Here are 12 thoughts I had while watching Pishachini.

  1. Apparently, apart from the land inspection, one has to perform a bhoot inspection too before buying any property. That’s like horror 101!
  2. As expected, there is a ghost living on the land and it is none other than the cunning Pishachini, who has nothing better to do but scare everyone away to live alone. As an introvert, I feel seen.
  3. Finally, we meet the Pishachini and she is looking hella fine. Is it bizarre that I am obsessed with her gorgeous white saree?
  4. Pishachini wants to kill everyone around her for no reason and she is having a lot of fun while doing so.
  5. Whosoever has done the background score for this show needs to calm down a little. I can see that there is a demon on the screen even without that extra ominous music.
  6. Pishachini gets trapped in a box and everyone is happy. For how long I wonder?
  7. 2 mins later, the demon woman once again escapes from the box and now she wants revenge.
  8. NGL, being a Pishachini sounds like a lot of work. I would have never left my box to irritate some humans.
  9. 20 years go by and we are introduced to a man-child, named Rocky, and I already find him annoying.
  10. And once again Pishachini is here to traumatise everyone and ruin everything.
  11. Why do I want Pishachini to win against humanity? Maybe ‘coz Rathors are very annoying.
  12. Cliffhanger ending (what a surprise)

So after watching the first episode of Pishachini, all I can say is that we need to make better horror shows. Can someone get the makers to understand that real horror comes with unpredictability, not grunge makeup and ominous music?

Throughout the episode, I was able to predict the next move and that’s the biggest sign of a bland screenplay. There is so much to explore in the horror genre, so can we at least try to do something different?

So, will I watch the remaining episodes of this show? No. Do I regret the time I already spend on the first episode? Also, no. ‘Coz I live for cringe content.
