Of all the departments that come together to make a movie what it is, costume designing is arguably the most underrated, which is a shame because the effect clothes can have on the viewing experience is huge. That’s not an exaggeration at all.
From a basic saree to an embroidered kurta-sharara set, there have been several outfits from Bollywood movies that took our breaths and hearts away, so today, we asked some women about one outfit from the movies that they loved the most. Their responses are making us want to go on a re-watch spree.
1. “When we are talking about dresses in desi movies, we can’t ignore Sushmita Sen’s sarees in Main Hoon Na. I still remember getting a red and black saree made for my farewell just like hers and I got so many compliments. It was iconic.” -Aarushi Sharma
