While the dictionary definition of a wedding is ‘ceremony of marrying’, when it comes to Bollywood stars, it is so much more. In the last couple of weeks, we have been obsessed over the smallest deets from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s dreamy shaadi and we are yet to get enough. After all, it is not every day that two of the country’s biggest stars get hitched, right?
Ever since Ranbir and Alia’s oh-so-gorg wedding snaps have blessed our feeds, we have been waiting to know about the ceremony. Luckily, mama Neetu Kapoor recently spilled the beans about the #Ralia wedding in an interview and we have all the deets.
Neetu revealed that Ranbir and Alia wanted to have a destination wedding in South Africa, but eventually ended up having a ceremony at home. She said, “They (Ranbir and Alia) said ‘we don’t want a circus, we don’t want to tell anyone, we just want to do it.’ The circus before that, with memes and other such things, becomes nerve-wracking. So we kept it very very quiet, we would say it’s engagement. We couldn’t even shop, there were a few people who were appointed to pick and drop stuff because if we go then everyone will know the wedding is happening.”
The Kabhie Kabhie actress added, “We were in a box, we couldn’t do anything. But then of course everybody got to know once the lights went up and the Sabyasachi outfits arrived.”
Looking Back At #Ralia Wedding
After months of rumours and speculations, Ranbir and Alia got hitched on April 14 and dropped the cutest snaps on the ‘Gram. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress also penned a short note about the big day and shared, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special. Love, Ranbir and Alia”
