Till now we have witnessed many celebrities taking wedding vows for a second time, proving that pyaar and shaadi can happen more than once. And the latest one to do so is popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. The actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Raees alongside Shah Rukh Khan, recently got hitched for the second time with her longtime beau Salim Karim. Pictures and videos from their dreamy wedding are all over our Instagram feed and they are making our hearts flutter.
Apart from dropping subtle hints every now and then, the couple decided to remain tight-lipped about their relationship before tying the knot. However, we recently came across this old video in which Mahira addressed her relationship with Salim by saying the cutest thing about him.
A few years ago, Mahira got into a candid conversation with famous Pakistani designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin aka HSY for a virtual interview. During the chat, HSY asked Mahira, “You are in love now, his name is Salim. What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you look into his eyes?” Mahira blushed and responded by saying, “There’s a line in Humsafar, which I thought was beautiful, where Ashar says to Khirad, ‘Pata nahi tum mujhay kis naiki kay badlay main mili ho (I don’t know what virtue I did to deserve you.) I think the same about him. I don’t know what have I done, must have done something good in my life that Allah blessed me with…” HSY interrupted and said, “Because of which Allah blessed you with Salim.“
She further added, “I am super grateful for my child. He is the centre of my world, everything revolves around him, but I feel the same way about him (Salim). The people I love, that there is something that I must have done right. I used to think I was such a heartbreaker but realized Allah Almighty will not be too happy with my prude behavior. I hope that we can protect this because I feel like any relationship is a long, you have to work at it and strive to make it better.”
Wow, Mahira’s words truly made our hearts skip a beat. Here’s wishing them a lifetime of happiness.
