While I’m all for classics, I also truly appreciate brides who have what it takes to try something different. Fashion is all about experimenting and when it comes to the wedding day, it could result in a big hit or a miss. No wonder then, not many brides are willing to try something new.
But not in the case of Ahaana Khosla, daughter of celebrated designer Manoviraj Khosla. Ahaana married her childhood sweetheart Shehan Minocher in Hampshire, England. Obviously, the bride’s outfit was designed by her father and it’s nothing like I’ve seen before. To embody Ahaana’s unique personality, Manoviraj created a blue denim lehenga for her!
From the choli to the skirt, everything was created out of the timeless fabric. And it’s not just the choice of fabric that I am in awe of, the eccentric detailings and embroidery on her bridal outfit added a unique touch too. Taking to her Instagram, Ahaan shared how the vision came to life. She wrote, “I always dreamt of wearing @manovirajkhosla on my wedding day.. because how many girls get to say my dad designed my wedding lehenga ? 🥹 So over the years we had many (crazy) ideas of what this lehenga would be, many disagreements and laughs but the one thing we both agreed on was that it had to reflect my personality and embody the bride I wanted to be.”
Further, she revealed the thought behind each detailing on her bridal ensemble. She wrote, “The idea was to bring the English Garden (the venue itself) and my head full of dreams onto the lehenga – with each embroidered element representing something meaningful. The butterflies and dragonflies to signify change, a transformation and a new beginning, and the flowers and leaves to bring in the beauty, joy, hope and optimism.”
Not just Ahaana, even the groom was dressed in a unique denim bandhgala and loafers for the pheras.
Ahaana’s bridal ensemble reflects not only her personality but the adorable bond that she shares with her father. So wholesome!
