On July 14, the world watched India create history when the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) successfully launched the Chandrayaan 3. The rocket took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, and all eyes were glued to India. Later on August 21, a wave of happiness passed through the country when Chandrayaan 3 established a connection with Chandrayaan 2 orbiter. Since then, the country has been eagerly waiting for Chandrayaan 3’s successful landing on the Moon’s south pole with bated breath. Now the moment is finally here! The powerful rocket successfully accomplished the ‘soft landing’ on the moon and the whole country is celebrating this historic day.
Before we tell you what this means for our country, scroll down to see the visuals.

What This Means
The safe landing of Chandrayaan 3 has made India the first country to make a ‘soft landing’ on the South Pole of the moon. And it has also made India only the fourth country to successfully land on the moon, after the former USSR, the United States, and China. Not only has the success of this mission elevated our nation’s pride but has also marked our place in the new space race to build a solid infrastructure on the moon. Reportedly, the government is also looking to increase investment in private space launches and other satellite-related businesses now. So, this has only opened numerous doors for India’s space sector.
This is certainly our nation’s proudest moment. A huge congratulations to the talented team of scientists at ISRO.
